<p><strong>But &#8230; what are carbohydrates?</strong></p>
<p>Reserve molecules are stored in most plants, containing grades amounts of starch (made from glucose) and smaller amounts of lipids (vegetable oils).</p>
<p>There are three kinds of carbohydrates: monosaccharides, disaccharides, oligosaccharides and polysaccharides. These are the most dangerous because they produce thousands of sugar molecules.</p>

<p>Ketosis is negative for three important reasons. First, the conversion of amino acids to glucose is not efficient or quick to recover from all glycogen lost between each workout, so our performance and muscular development will be reduced. Second, the significant reduction decarbohidratos increase the amount of fat in the diet, producing a greater increase in body fat when consuming a diet rich in fat and low encarbohidratos. Third, many researchers speculate that the acidity resulting from the excess of ketone bodies has the potential to become very dangerous and cause undue stress to the kidneys.</p>
<p>Dr. Susan Kleiner, owner of High Performance Nutrition, recommends no lower than 5 grams of carbohydrate per kilo of body weight if we want to reduce fat, but many bodybuilders get better results with a somewhat lower figure. We added: &#8220;To avoid any carbohydrate immediately before or during exercise, but immediately upon completion you must take a meal of carbohydrate / protein to induce the anabolic effect and recover the lost glycogen.</p>
<p>The recommendation of the American Dietetic Association is that we should eat 40-60% of our total calories from carbohydrates, up to 30% of total calories from fat and other proteins.</p>
